Conversations With ConveyIQ: Chirag Patel

ConveyIQ is filled with bright minds and strong contributors. We sat down with Chirag Patel to learn more about his experience at ConveyIQ.
Over the course of his career, Chirag worked for companies such as TMP Worldwide, Jibe, and Sterling Talent Solutions. He is currently a Director of Product at ConveyIQ to help the organization execute its mission to be the platform that owns communications between candidates and recruiters.  Chirag has a product management approach largely inspired by curiosity to learn from customers, and innovation design, which you’ll find reflected in the products the company releases to market.
 

Get To Know Chirag

 

What was your first job ever?

I was a college intern at a large pharmaceutical company. I spent my summer programming robots in a drug discovery lab to help scientists find disease curing compounds.
 

What initially attracted you to ConveyIQ and made you want to work here?

I was drawn to the mission of the company to tackle some of the biggest problems in recruiting.
 

What is your position at ConveyIQ, and what does your day-to-day look like?

I’m Director of Product and my day to involves collaboration and strategy. I work across the organization and our customers to learn about and understand their problems in the recruiting space. I also work with our design team to craft innovative solutions to these problems. A big part of my day also involves working with engineering to set priorities and build product capabilities that provide the most value to our customers.
 

What do you enjoy most about working at ConveyIQ?

The entire organization is extremely collaborative which leads to creativity in crafting solutions for our customers.
 

ConveyIQ is all about transforming the hiring experience. What are your thoughts on candidate experience in today’s job market?

We have a job market that is very competitive and companies are waging a battle to fight for finding top talent. In order to keep the competitive edge, recruiters need to provide an experience that keeps attention and interest throughout the entire journey from applying to a job all the way through hire.
 

How do you think technology can best support recruiting teams?

Recruiting teams' primary tool is the ATS and they hate having to deal with multiple tools to manage their recruitment processes. Any tool that helps complement the ATS and improves the candidate's experience is great!
 

Why do you believe in the ConveyIQ suite of products?

I believe in the products because they help solve key problems in helping recruiting teams scale their efforts. Our products automate much of their process, so that they can use the time saved to focus on building and maintaining their relationships to candidates.
 

What has been your most memorable experience at ConveyIQ?

Successfully running our beta program and releasing our talent communication platform which is actively used by customers.
 

If you weren’t at ConveyIQ in your current position, what would you be doing?

If I didn’t have any constraints in my life, I’d love to go to culinary school and train to be a professional chef.
